, the nation's largest independent industrial water consulting firm, has an opening for a Lab Technician in our Tewksbury, Massachusetts headquarters.
The individual should be dynamic, well spoken, have excellent writing skills, require little supervision, be able to multitask, and have good planning skills.
This individual should be a personable and friendly professional who is organized, computer literate and detail oriented.
This is a Tuesday-Saturday position and weekend work is required.
This is a non-exempt hourly position.
Responsibilities and Duties Job
Responsibilities:
Perform routine wet testing techniques using manual protocols, as well as automated liquid handlers, per internal SOPs Perform routine analysis utilizing Thermo IC, Spectro ICP, Agilent ICP-MS, and additional instrumentation Maintain assigned instrumentation per SOPs Prepare and interpret biological cultures Maintain stock and cleanliness at assigned stations and ensure testing deadlines are met Ensure facility water quality through regular testing and maintenance Other duties and special testing techniques, as assigned Education/Experience Requirements:
Entry level position (depending on experience and qualifications, you may be eligible for a more advanced position within our laboratory) Degree in scientific discipline Some laboratory course work required 1
years of experience (non-managerial) in a lab setting helpful Qualifications and Skills Skill Requirements:
Must have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent spoken and written use of the English language Exposure to chromatography techniques is preferred Knowledge of Thermo and Spectro software packages beneficial Previous knowledge of rudimentary chemical properties Proven advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Ability to think critically and make decisions Ability to reshuffle priorities and stay on schedule Physical Requirements:
