Electrical Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionInstall, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components and equipment.
Must be knowledgeable in the principles and techniques commonly used in the electrical field, including programming, troubleshooting, PLCs, inverters, and single loop controllers.
Candidate must be able to provide training and guidance to general mechanics as needed.
Responsibilities:
Receive project assignment from supervisor and respond to trouble calls from other departmentsTroubleshoot relay logicDraw and interpret schematics and compile documentation for complex projectsProjects must be completed in a safe and timely fashionInterpret electrical and mechanical situations to determine process failure, needs, and improvements.
Write simple PLC program applicationsDesign, program, and troubleshoot simple PLC systemsBe able to effectively train technicians at all other levels to perform task successfully and safelyConsistent effort to stay current with new technology, equipment, and regulationsMaintain electrical operations for off-shift production systems - may require giving instructions via telephone conversationsComplete assignments in a timely fashionReport to management any quality and safety problems and potential production problems that are encountered while performing the jobPerform all job duties in a safe manner without bodily injury to self or othersPerform all related job duties and other responsibilities assigned by supervisor or department managerSpecify and order parts and supplies related to job needs in a cost effective manner.
The Ideal Candidate will have the Following
Qualifications:
Must be able to interpret electrical and mechanical situations to determine process failure, needs, and improvementsMust be able to perform preventive maintenance on equipmentMust be able to use test equipment including but not limited to DMM's, amp meters, and megger metersMust be able to design, install, repair, replace and maintain motors, drives, controls, starters, lights, power, communication, PLC, and other related systemsKnow the practices, methods, tools, materials and equipment of the electrician's tradeKnow the hazards and safety precautions of all proceduresKnow to diagnose and remedy maintenance problemsKnowledge of AC/DC drive programmingKnowledge of the National Electric CodeKnowledgeable in the use of DOS, Windows, RSLogix, RSLinks, and other supplied softwareKnowledgeable of PID controlHigh school diploma or GED is required.
Associate's degree in a technical field is preferredMinimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance and electrical experience, PLC and food manufacturing industry experience is preferredAbility to work in a team environment and a diverse workforceEffective verbal and written communication skillsAble to lift 50 lbs.
