HybridThe Sensor Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber (SC5) Department at Raytheon is seeking an experienced Senior Principal level electrical engineer in the development and implementation of FPGA based designs for control and/or signal processing radar applications.
The individual will be required to provide development support throughout product lifecycle, from initial concept to acceptance delivery to maintenance.
Applicant will work as part of a highly motivated team environment and will be collaborating with cross-functional project teams making up a larger program or internal research and development efforts.
Our engineers are assigned to a manager of approximately 20 employees with similar skills.
Each section manager is responsible for their members performance, career development and assigning tasks that balance the employees interests with current needs of the project teams.
This position can be for the Tewksbury, MA location or the Marlborough, MA location.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Owning or contributing to the successful completion of FPGA-based designs, on time and on budgetWorking with a team to determine the technical approach or solution to meet system level requirementsMay lead small teams and mentor junior engineersDemonstrate self-motivation, with little supervision requiredDesign and deliver production quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept up to productionWork cooperatively with systems, hardware, software engineers, and program management to ensure product successDemonstrate the ability to architect FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and Concept of Operations (CONOPS)Translate system level requirements into FPGA requirementsDesign and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainabilityVerify designs utilizing self-checking techniques with directed and constrained random tests, while tracking functional and code coverageCreate complete documentation including requirements, verification plan, and user s guidesSupport internal and external technical reviewsQualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline Minimum of 10 years of professional experience designing FPGAs using VHDL/Verilog.
An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for two additional years of experience.
Demonstrated experience with digital design and VHDL or Verilog codingExperience designing and integrating with AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera or Actel/Microsemi/Microchip FPGAsExperience using synthesis tools:
Synplify, Xilinx Vivado, or Intel Quartus ProExperience with Timing Closure and utilizing Chipscope / Signal TapExperience and knowledge developing requirements for FPGA productsExperience in AMD/Xilinx MPSOC, RFSOC, Ultrascale+, VersalExperience with high-speed interfaces such as JESD, GbE, PCIEMentoring junior engineersThe ability to obtain and maintain a DOD U.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD.
The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
