Assistant Product Line Manager - Laboratory Equipment

Scope of Position:


In this role you will have responsibilities for Laboratory Equipment products. We look for you to handle all brands in the assigned portfolio which include: Corning, Axygen, Labnet and PLs. You will be responsible for the development of specific marketing plans for all brands in the assigned category to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement. You will also develop and review the marketing strategies, advertising plans, long-range plans, goals, and objectives.

Day to Day Responsibilities:



  • Assist in the development of sales tools and technical training programs for all internal and external customers.

  • Make recommendations for improvement to existing sales and training tools.

  • Handle product life cycle for all brands in the assigned portfolio.

  • Participate in the annual pricing process for responsible product lines.

  • Maintain cross-reference for responsible product lines and post on SFDC.

  • Monitor sales and margin trends in DataWarehouse and make recommendations for financial improvements for all product lines.

  • Monitor activity and market dynamics to make recommendations for improved competitive advantage for all product lines.

  • Maintain effective, regular communication with international and domestic Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Forecasting Departments for all product lines.

  • Effectively interface between business operations, contract manufacturing group (CMG), 3rd Party calibration and repair houses, and the Reynosa, Mexico manufacturing plant.

  • Track and handle designated business metrics for all product lines.

  • Develop, communicate, and maintain all relevant marketing content on various CLS web sites. Make recommendations to improve CLS web sites.

  • Work closely with Supply Chain to develop and maintain accurate product forecasts for all product lines.

  • Monitor out-of-stock situations and communicate up-to-date information on back orders to all partners for all product lines.

  • Communicate effectively with commercial operations on all critical product information.

  • Special Projects and Tasks as defined by the Product Line Manager, Equipment, in support of CLS Business Initiatives.

  • 10-20%, some international travel required

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:



  • Monday- Friday, standard business hours.

Required Education:



  • Bachelor's degree.


¬ 


Required Years and Area of Experience:



  • Minimum of 1+ years of business experience including: product management, marketing, and/or sales.

Required Skills:



  • Strong knowledge of marketing tools and techniques

  • Business opportunity assessment and financial analysis skills.

  • Understanding of product development process; ability to drive new product and product refresh projects

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:



  • Experience or knowledge of the Life Science market, products, technology, and/or customers.

  • Masters in Science or MBA.

  • Professional experience with bench top laboratory instruments.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements of electronic equipment.

  • Product development experience, through the launching of new products.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
