Scope of Position:

In this role, you will be responsible for new product design of disposable plastic ware and associated single-use components for use in therapeutic/biotherapeutic manufacturing. We look for you to proficient in 3D CAD and FEA software. We look for you to work with other team members to solve difficult technical, product related problems. Supports or leads continuous improvement activities, new product introductions and cost reduction projects. Manage projects, including development of and implementation of timelines and capital budget. Knowledgeable about high volume tight tolerance plastic component manufacturing processes.

Day to Day
Responsibilities:

  • Product Design using 3D CAD, FEA and Moldflow analysis of product design.
  • Actively participates with Product Development/Marketing Group for new product launches and projects.
  • Prepares Appropriation Requisitions (AR s) with regards to Capital Expenditure for tooling equipment and automation.
  • Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects.
  • Use statistical tools and DOE techniques in problem solving and process/product improvement
  • Executes cost reduction and improvement (DMAIC) projects in line with business objectives.
  • Provides support for new product implementations as required.
  • Manages special projects as assigned

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 25% domestic and international.

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Standard business hours; Monday Friday.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree required.

Required Years and Area of
Experience:

  • Minimum of 5
    years of relevant experience in design of plastic components for medical/biopharma industry.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably Solidworks.
  • Proficient in FEA.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Track record of delivering results.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in a technical field.
  • Experience in designing and integrating plastic component in medical devices.
  • Ability to translate customer need in technical specifications/ functional requirements and verify design output.

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Master of Science in Engineering or Sciences preferred.
  • Experience with Single Use Technology products and processes.
  • Green Belt Certification.
  • Experience as a Project Team Leader.
  • Knowledgeable about GMP.
